Here are some of the most asked questions that we receive. If you are unable to find the question that you have, please give us a call at 800-446-1003 and we will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Q: What camper will fit my truck?
A: The Cougar camper will fit all full size trucks with an 8' bed. Such as: Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota Tundra.
The Panther camper will fit all full size trucks with a 6' bed. Such as: Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan trucks.
The Bobcat camper will fit all small size trucks with a 6' bed. Such as: Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota, Chevrolet S-10 and Nissan small trucks.
The Puma is made to fit the small trucks with a 5' bed.
Our customer Photo page has a photo of just about every truck with a camper on it so that you may see how your truck would look with an All Terrain Camper on it. Below is a link to that page for you.

Q: Can I put a long bed camper on a short bed truck?
A: Yes you can. Leave the tailgate on the truck and the camper will come out to the end of the tailgate. Below are a couple of links to our customer page that shows a long bed camper on short bed trucks.

Q: Can my tailgate stay on my truck?
A: Your tailgate will not close with a camper on the truck. The only time that we ask that you leave the tailgate on the truck is if you are going to put a long bed camper on a short bed truck as in the examples in the previous question.
We ask that you remove the tailgate for all other applications. If you were to leave the tailgate on the truck it becomes a hazard to get in and out of the camper, especially in the mornings when there might be some dew on the tailgate if it were left on the truck.
Q: Can I leave my bed liner in my truck?
A: If you have a plastic slip in bed liner, it will need to be removed before you pick up your camper. The slip in liners will not allow the camper to fit properly in the truck bed. If you have a spray in liner such as Rhino Liner, that is fine.
Q: Do you have any dealers near me?
A: At this time we have no dealers. If you would like to see a camper in your area, just give us a call and we will see if we have a customer in your area that would be willing to show you their camper. We feel this is a better way for you to see a camper since you will get to talk to someone who actually uses the camper and is not trying to sell you one.
Q: Are your prices negotiable?
A: You are buying direct from the factory. You will also find that you are not dealing with a typical RV type dealer. There is no high pressure sales or other games that you are used to when you go to a RV lot. We will answer your questions and see if our camper will fit your style of camping. In turn we do not negotiate our prices at all. We have never had a customer complaint about our sales method and plan to keep our reputation going.
Q: Can you ship my camper to me?
A: Yes we can. We currently charge .90 a mile one way to you. As an example, if you live in Montana, figure out the mileage from Sacramento to your town one way and multiply that by .90. If you live 200 miles from Sacramento, the charge to deliver the camper would be 180.00.
Q: Do you do any custom work?
A: We can do some limited custom work. It depends on what you have in mind. Years ago we had to submit plans to the state of California and we were unable to do any custom work at all. Around 1999 the industry became self regulating and no longer require us to submit plans to the state. In turn we can now do some limited custom work but still have to maintain certain regulations that are still in place. Just let us know what you have in mind and we will be happy to tell you if it is possible.
Q: How much weight will the roof hold?
A: The roof is designed to hold a 1000 pounds of snow weight in the up position. That is approximately 3 to 4" of wet snow. In the down position you can put just about anything you want on it. One thing to keep in mind though is that anything that you put on the roof you will probably have to take down before you lift it.
Q: Can I fit my truck and camper in the garage?
A: Chances are that you will not be able to fit the truck and camper in the garage. Most garage doors are 7' high and the top of the camper on most trucks is just over 7'. If you have a true 8' garage door opening, then you will be able to fit the truck and camper in the garage as long as the opener is not in the way.
Q: Do you make an empty shell version of your camper?
A: Yes we do. Every model camper that we make also has an empty shell version. Our price list also shows what options that you may add to a shell model of camper.
Q: What is the cold weather pack?
A: The cold weather pack is an extra layer of insulation that you are able to put up inside the camper. It simply Velcro's into place on the inside of the camper along the soft portion of the pop up. This creates a one inch dead air space all the way around the inside of the camper and in turn, the heater will work about half as much with it in place in cold weather. We have discovered also that it works well in the summer to help keep the camper a little cooler. Here is a link to a great review of the Cold Weather Pack.

Q: Can I install the camper myself to save the installation fee?
A: Due to insurance regulations and safety issues, we will not allow a customer to install the camper themselves. We hope that you can understand our position on this.
Q: Can I use the stock tie downs in my truck bed to hold the camper on?
A: The stock tie downs in your truck bed are not strong enough to hold the camper in place over the long run. We have seen some customers try this that purchased a used camper from some one before. The stock tie downs have proven over time to be unable to hold the camper.
Q: What if I have a warranty issue and don't live near the factory?
A: We are rather proud of the fact that it is very rare for a warranty issue to come up. We are not perfect though and it does come up. If you live to far away from us to fix the camper for you, we are happy to have you take it to a local RV dealer in your area and we will pay for the repair. In the worst case scenario, if the local RV dealer is unable to fix the problem, we will send someone out to you to take care of it.
Q: I purchased a new or used camper. How do I take care of it?
A: When you purchase a new camper we go over the care and use of the camper with you. If you have purchased a used one these tips were probably not passed on to you. The pop up section of the camper is the one part that takes some care. If you will do the following, it will last you as long as the camper does. When you have the camper stored, pop it up at least once a month and let it air out. Every six months, wash the outside with simple soap and water and then treat it with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Here is a link to their website. http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=428
303 also makes a great cleaner. DO NOT USE Armoural on anything. This will destroy the liner over time if you do. If you follow these steps, your liner will stay in great shape over the years for you.
When you bring the roof down, another tip is to always push in the corners of the liner from the side of the camper every time. The way the liner folds in it may look like the corners are in fine but if you don't get into the habit of pushing them in, they tend to fold in a way that they will rub on the edge just a little and create small holes in the liner. If this happens or has already happened, just give us a call. We can send you some patch material to fix the problem before it becomes a replacement issue.
When you close the clamps that hold the roof down, you should start to feel the tension of the clamp at the half way point of closing. With all the clamps closed and in place you should be able to pull on the roof at each clamp and have a slight movement of about an 1/8" or so. If you over tighten the clamps you can actually bend the roof.
When you put the turnbuckles on that hold the camper on your truck, hand tighten them and then put a stubby screw driver in them and turn them an additional half to full turn and stop. DO NOT over tighten the turnbuckles. This should hold them in place just fine. Check them in about 300 or 400 miles and see if they have loosened up at all. As the camper settles into place the turnbuckles will stay tight.
If you have purchased a used camper, give us a call and we will be happy to go over the tips and tricks to keeping your camper in shape and use of it. Even if you have purchased another brand of camper we are still happy to help out. A few minutes of going over how to care for your camper will save you a lot of headaches and money down the road.
Q: Can I add racks to the roof to carry stuff?
A: We make a luggage and boat rack that you can add to the roof or we can also install Yakima tracks on the roof for you. You can carry just about anything you would like to on the roof in the down position. Just keep in mind that you will probably have to unload what ever you put on the roof to raise it.
